The Oaks

Family respite and retreat space

The Oaks is a newly-renovated living space in the peaceful suburb of Hillside, 2 miles from Montrose, Angus. It is a spacious period ground floor 3/4 bedroom flat which retains many of the original features. It has disabled access and sits within a three-story sandstone detached house and an acre of walled garden.

A word from our founders:

Natasha and Joseph

Having worked with families for around 25 years, as an educational psychologist, support worker, foster carer and local church volunteer I understand how challenging it is to be a family at this time. We have been told that our unique skill is that we can "Make a family out of anybody"! We welcome you to become part of The Hope at the Oaks community and in to our space - which is fully equipped with warm friendly faces, buckets of joy, and indescribable peace.

I have worked with young adults for 30 years both in residential care and through outreach work. I am passionate about getting young people out into the hills, rivers, forests and sea. I take people mountain biking, kayaking, hill walking and sea swimming regularly and I know how powerful this can be to build resilience. As a foster carer I work hard to create a family atmosphere for everyone I encounter - including our famous daily 3.30 tea and cake tradition! You are warmly welcome to join in.
